The Secretary of State’s office on Friday released the latest numbers after the first week of early voting. The numbers do not reveal which candidate voters cast their ballots for, only their party registration. Thirty-nine percent of the 626,097 voters who have cast a ballot are Republican, compared to 36 percent Democrats. Colorado is a hotly contested battleground in the presidential election. Both campaigns claimed the new numbers show their side is winning. Republicans trumpeted their lead. Democrats contended that Republicans normally vote earlier and that they are catching up.
