(CBS4) – President Barack Obama landed in Colorado on Air Force One Saturday night, and will be getting ready here for one of his last campaign speeches before the Democratic National Convention. It’s clear Colorado is one of the Obama campaign’s top priorities. This is the second time within a week that the president has come to Colorado. The state’s nine electoral votes are not much, but political analysts believe they could decide the election. Obama campaign staffers are calling this a “grass roots stop” — he will speak on Norlin Quad on the University of Colorado’s campus. The speech is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Analysts say the purpose of this trip is for the president to energize some of his strongest supporters to get to the polls on Election Day. The first day of the DNC in Charlotte, N.C., is Tuesday. Obama will deliver the keynote speech on Thursday night.
